Alejandra "Nonnie" Luna, age 55, passed away peacefully at the Christopher House in Austin, Texas Thursday December 5th, 2013.
Born on April 24th, 1958 to Joe and Refugia Campos, she was a proud citizen of Smithville, Texas.
Nonnie was a valued employee at UTMD Anderson Research Center, where she was employed for 16 years. She always went out of her way to help where she was needed, and was given the Heart of M. D. Anderson Outstanding Employee award. She cared for people as if everyone was family, and she NEVER met a stranger. You hear this saying all of the time, but she honestly was a one of a kind of lady.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Joseph Luna, her children David (wife Cheyenne Luna) and Brenda Luna. Nonnie is also survived by her grandchildren Stormi Luna and Rowdy Luna, her siblings Rosie Gutierrez, Mary Buentello (husband Frank Buentello,) Bill Ruiz, and Pete Campos (wife Jennifer Campos.) She has positively impacted the lives of many people, and will always be fondly remembered for her love of life, her fun spirit, & her contagious positive attitude.
Visitation will be Friday, December 6, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at All Faiths of the Pines Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at 10:30 am, Saturday, December 7 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Smithville.
