Alexander (Al) P. Simpson, Jr. passed away at home February 28, 2016 at the age of 73 from complications following a stroke. Al was born January 20, 1943 in Ft. Worth , Tx to Alexander P. Simpson and Nannifreid Rabourn Simpson. The family then moved to Austin, Tx where Al was raised and attended Austin High School. In 1964 Al joined the U S Army and served most of his time in Vietnam. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Marksman Medal.
Al enjoyed fishing, playing pool and restoration of his old Pickup Trucks and Broncos. He retired from Southwestern Bell - AT&T after 30 years of service. He and his wife Pat Quinn moved from Austin to Cedar Creek, Tx in 1985 where he spent the remainder of his life. Al was loved by many friends and family and will be so missed in our lives until one day we will be together once again.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, sister Freida Carlson and 1 grandson Morgan Tyler Homa.
Al is survived by his wife Patricia Quinn Simpson, daughters Jennifer Simpson Cullen and Merrdith Wilson, stepdaughter Andrea Wild, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
We will have a Memorial Service in honor of Al's life and service to his country on Saturday March 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at ALL FAITHS of the PINES Funeral Home , 110 American Legion Rd, Smithville, Tx 78957 with visitation and meal following the service at the VFW 2527 on FM 20, Bastrop, TX.
