Allan Ira Asseo passed away on July 9, 2012 at his home in Austin, Texas. Allan was born August 22, 1946 in the Bronx, New York City. His parents, Esther Hazan Asseo and Joseph Asseo, preceded him in death. Survivors include his cousin Stella and her husband Dr. Bill Liebesman of Westfield, New Jersey and Dr. Jacques Fresco and his wife Rosalie of Princeton, New Jersey. He is also survived by special friend and dance partner, Dr. Flora de Hart, and his loving companion, Bruiser Asseo, his feisty Pomeranian, of Austin.
Allan spent several years in NYPD before becoming involved in the textile industry in Mexico City. After leaving Mexico, he was in automobile sales in Houston and Austin, Texas.
Allan's favorite pastimes included travel, tennis, chess, flying small planes and dancing (especially the Texas two-step). Unfortunately, he had to give up many of these activities as his diabetes progressed.
Recently, Allan made the comment that he would like to leave the world a little better than he found it. He has been a supporter of Seton Family of Hospitals and St. Edward's University which he believed are making the world a better place. Donations in Allan's memory may be made to Seton Family of Hospitals in Austin or the Scholarship Fund at St. Edward's University.
