Alma Bandeira

Our beloved, Alma “Chata” Ruiz Bandeira, age 58, was called to our Heavenly Father on Monday, December 27, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her father, Pedro Ruiz.

Alma was born November 5, 1963, graduated from Johnson High School in Austin, Texas where she enjoyed playing the clarinet. She moved to Beaufort, South Carolina in 1988, her favorite town to live where she raised 4 beautiful children.  Her passion was to help special education children succeed in life.  Texas was still home where she returned to be close to family in 1999.  Alma is most remembered for her cooking, arts and crafts, and her eagerness to join a party with family and friends – she was the life of a party.

She is survived by her mother Juanita Ruiz, her sons – Christopher Ruiz and Gabriel Ibanez, her daughters – Vanessa Ibanez and Veronica Ibanez, her sisters – Sylvia Medina, Margarita Ruiz, Benita Ruiz, and Barbarita Ruiz, her brothers – Rene Sandoval, Pedro Ruiz Jr, and Jesse Ruiz, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held later for family and friends.
