Angelina Nicole “Niki” Debbs of Austin passed away suddenly on Saturday morning, April 19, 2014. She was 26 years old. The brightest stars burn out the quickest, and Niki was one of the brightest stars around. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the many, many people whose lives she brightened. She is survived by her mother, Rosalinda Debbs, her father, Mike Debbs, her brother Patrick Debbs, her nephew, Maddox Adams, her grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins scattered throughout Texas. She is also survived by Sir Bentley, her Yorkshire Terrier, her precious little “baby.”
Niki lived her entire short life in Austin. She graduated from Akins High School and attended Austin Community College. She had yet to settle on a career but worked in various local restaurants, in customer service jobs, and, most recently, as a dog groomer. Niki loved to draw and paint and even took some art classes at ACC. She liked to hike the greenbelt, watch quality TV shows with her dad and awful reality TV shows alone in her room, and hang out with her friends. Sometimes it seemed like Niki was physically attached to her i-phone, staying in constant voice, text and social media communication with all her many friends. She often attended services and events with her mother at Life Austin Church.
Honoring her wishes, Niki will be cremated and some of her ashes will be planted with a tree to live on in her mother’s yard. A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Life Austin Church, 8901 W. Hwy 71., Austin, TX 78735, in the Patton Theater (at the back of the main building). Flowers may be sent to Life Austin on Saturday before the ceremony.
