Ann Forsyth Bruton Wheeler passed away March 16, 2014 at the age of 59.
She was born in Racine, Wisconsin on November 1, 1954 to Robert John and Jean Bulkley Bruton. The family moved to San Antonio, Texas when Ann was in pre school. She graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1972 and the University of North Texas with a degree in social work. She was employed by the State of Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Austin.
Ann loved reading, camping, going to the movies and traveling, especially trips to Las Vegas. Her greatest passion was spending time on the Texas coast, specifically Port Aransas, where she would enjoy sunset happy hour, which she referred to as "pinky time", each evening. She had a very special place in her heart for all dogs especially her own, Duffy and Maggie.
She was preceeded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Tom Wheeler, her brothers, Frederic Antony (Betty), Peter (Mariana), her brothers in law , Scott (Maureen), Charlie (Pat), Jim (Sue), and sister in law Mary Ann Townsend (Rob) , numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 3:00p.m.at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 2200 Justin Lane, Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the charity of your choice.
