Anne (Nancy) Phelps Langford, who died Sunday, December 1, 2013, was
born October 31, 1916 in Versailles, Kentucky, one of four children of
David Brainard Phelps and Anne Crenshaw Phelps.
She grew up in Cloverport, Kentucky and attended the University of
Kentucky where she earned a BA in English. She married Gerald
Langford in 1938. They were married for 67 years until his death in
2003.
She had a lifelong interest in plants and gardening, was a wide
reader, and had been a member of All Saints Episcopal Church since
1946.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Lawrie of Nottingham, England,
and Mary Sorrels of Austin, Texas; her grandchildren, Katherine
Sorrels, Alfred Lawrie, Vernoica Lawrie, and Thomas Lawrie; and her
nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in January 2014 (date pending) at All
Saints. Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints' Loaves and Fishes ministry.
