A talented musician, Atanacio composed and performed his own songs, sharing his love for music with everyone around him. His creativity and enthusiasm extended beyond music; he also excelled in training show steers, with one of his steers earning the title of Grand Champion. Atanacio was known for his friendly nature and his special affection for children, especially his youngest son, Chris, for whom he came to this country to care for. His legacy is one of joy, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.
He is preceded in death by his mother Petra Bretado and his father Deciderio Hernandez. His brother Jose Donanciano Hernandez, and sister Maria Isabel Hernandez.
He is survived by his wife Josefina Estrada.His siblings, Gonzalo Hernadez, Eliza Hernandez, Maria del Socorro, Maria De Los Angeles Henandez and Jesus Hernandez. His children Cruz Elena Hernandez, Jose Hernandez, Jorge Hernandez, Jairo Hernandez, Paola Hernandez, Jose Cristobal Hernandez, stepsons Manuel Lopez, Miguel Lopez, Victor Lopez, Carlos Lopez, and Many grandchildren
A private viewing service will be held on July 30th, 2024, from 5-7 pm, following a funeral service from 7-8 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Services, 8507 N. IH-35, Austin, Texas 78753, where family and friends will gather to honor his life and contributions.
