One of God’s sweetest souls, a loving wife, a beloved daughter, a cool sister, a playful aunt, a caring niece, a dear friend to many, and a hard working woman, Audrey E. Lynch Herrera, has gone to be with the Lord. It is in loving memory that we remember you.
Born May 28, 1959 in Monterrey, Mexico to her loving parents, Roy and Martha Lynch of Houston, Tx. Audrey is the 2nd child in this proud Irish, Spanish blood-line. Baptized in the Catholic faith she adored the saints, loved our Holy Mother Mary and knew she was a child of God. 1971 the family moved to Sugar Land, TX where Audrey attended Dulles High school. She was a social gem and an academic scholar. She loved her family, music, animals, cultures, history and believed deeply in civil rights. One of her first and favorite jobs as an usherette in The Summit deepened her love of life. Graduating from Dulles in 1977, she was accepted to the University of Texas at Austin making it her home, which she never left.
With a smile that would light up the room, she worked for many years in the hospitality industry. Climbing that ladder, she cherished every rung. Later, she became F&B Director for one of Austin’s most prestigious private Country Clubs. With her love for Austin, she then moved on to aid in another passion; power to the people. For more than 16 years she proudly served Austin’s local government with the Travis County Elections Division ensuring Travis county voter’s voices be heard.
Sadly, time takes its toll and on Nov.12, 2021 Audrey passed away. She is welcomed by all her loved ones that have gone before her. She leaves behind her devoted husband and best friend of over 30 years Xavier Herrera; her sisters, Tracy Jones and Kathleen Charlez, her brother Greg Lynch and wife Beverly, her brother Andrew Fulton and wife Elyse; her nephews: Michael, James, Steven, Mark, Mitchell, Andrew Jr. and niece Kelly, 2 Grand nephews and 1 grand niece. Also, her extended Herrera Cantilo family which she loved and was so proud to be a part of; Patrick, Christina, Diego, Philip, Stephanie, and their extended families; as well as dear cousins, and many great friend’s.
We want to say a big Thank You to the care team at Hospice Austin. Your loving care made all the difference during such a difficult time. We ask for God’s blessings so that you all may continue to do what you do for those in need.
