Benjamin Harrison Schutz, Jr.,83, of Smithville, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with illnesses.
He was born in Austin, Texas to Benjamin Harrison Schutz, Sr. and Emma Briggs. He married Betty Stall on June 7, 1952 and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage.
Ben was a bricklayer by trade. He is remembered for his love for ranching and gardening. He started ranching with The Finley family of Houston and remained close friends through out the years. He loved sharing the vegetables with family and friends. He was always willing to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife Betty, daughters June Fajkus (Ted), Sandra Dunbar (Larry), and Donna Maugere (Mike), and sons Ben Wayne Schutz, Carl Schutz (Donna) and Larry Schutz, 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Elbert Schutz and sister Ollie Tuttlemonte.
Visitation will be held @All Faith of Pines in Smithville on Thursday February 12, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm.
Funeral services are to be held on Friday February 13, 2015 @ 10:00 am @ All Faith of Pines, Smithville. Burial following services @ Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville, Texas
