Bertha Urdy

Bertha Urdy was born February 10, 1918 to Sue Naylon and Crawford Naylon in Bastrop, Texas. She attended school within Utley ISD. She professed a faith in Christ at an early age, and was a faithful member of Del Valle Missionary Baptist Church in Del Valle, Texas under her adopted son and Pastor, Maurice Walker. Bertha enjoyed working in her yard, and gardening was her favorite pastime.
Bertha passed away May 30, 2017 at the age of 99.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Urdy; her parents, Sue and Crawford Naylon; four sisters, Sue Willie Mayes, Mary Bryant, Minnie Ross and Ella Humphries; brothers, Julius Naylon, Sr. and Tom Naylon.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, a son whom she raised as her own, Pastor Maurice Walker; a special niece, Bridget Mitchell (Darryl); and a special nephew Lee Arthur McDowell; and a host of family and friends.
