Bobbie Bigham

Bobbie Jo Sneed Bigham was born to James Albert Sneed and Allie Mae Franklin Sneed on November 21, 1935 near Pilot Knob, Texas, Southeast of Austin. She married Kenneth Oscar Bigham on October 26, 1956. They had five children, numerous grandchildren and one great grandchild. Bobbie was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church.

Bobbie graduated from Anderson High School and received her degrees from Huston-Tillotson College and the University of Texas at Austin. She worked for Travis County, Huston-Tillotson, U.T. and Sneed Realtors. She was an educated and articulate woman who loved poetry and fiction. She taught her children to read early in life and raised and encouraged voracious readers. She influenced many others whose lives she touched through her insistence on the importance of education.

Bobbie departed this life on July 25, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth and by her son Kevin O’Neal. She is survived by her children Wayne (Patsy) Bigham, Kennetha Bigham-Tsai (Kee Tsai), Kathy Love, and Kenneth Bigham, II, and by grandchildren Jordan and Kristan, Cary “CJ” and Kenny, Kristopher (Kayla), Kevin Abraham, Keeton and Kamden, by one great granddaughter Kamryn, and by siblings Lucile Payton, Belvin, Kennie and Kermit Sneed and by a host of other relatives and friends.
