North Austin Location

On November 18, 1928, the news rang throughout Bastrop County, Texas that Henry Haywood and Ella (Wilson) Haywood were blessed with a beautiful baby girl. They named her Callie Mae Haywood. She was number five of five children born to this union.

Growing up with a strong Christian foundation and Godly parents, she attended the A.M.E. Church in Bastrop, Texas. She accepted God as her Personal Savior and received the Holy Spirit in 1979 at the World of Pentecost (aka Promiseland) under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth Phillips. She later began worshiping with Mike Simons Ministry where she remained until her health declined. She attended the Haywood School where she was an athlete in basketball and softball. She was known to hit a few three pointers from the half court range. She later attended Austin Community College where she received her GED and a certification in Nursing and Cosmetology.

Callie Mae lived in Corpus Christi, TX for over 20 years; she returned to Austin in 1970 to take care of her ailing parents.

She married Charles Arnold in October of 1990; no children were born to this union.

Callie Mae was known for having a faithful prayer life she would attend all night prayer sessions at Promiseland. She would often gather her nephews and their friends and pray with them. Callie Mae would also visit the sick and shut in; she would sit with friends and family members who were in the hospital days and weeks at a time.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 11, 2015, she heard the voice of Jesus say: "Come unto Me and rest; Lay down, thou weary one, lay down Thy head upon My breast." She is preceded in death by: her husband Charles Arnold, her parents Henry and Ella Haywood; two brothers, O. T. and Verlon Haywood, two sisters, Eva and Alfreda Haywood.

Left to cherish her memories are: one son, Wilbert Haywood of Corpus Christi, TX. Devoted nieces, Ella Uzaka-Lott (Pastor James Lott) of Buda, TX, Pam Haywood of Houston, TX. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the All Faiths Funeral Services North Chapel. Services will follow at 11:00 AM.
