Catherine Fisher

September 15, 1936 — November 27, 2024

God called Catherine Dawson Fisher, one of His Beloved Daughters home on 

Wednesday, November 27, 2024. She was born September 15, 1936, in Palestine, Arkansas and then moved to Battle Creek, Michigan as a young girl. Catherine was the youngest child of two born to the union of Sigmond Dawson and Bertha Love Dawson. 

 

Catherine was educated in the public schools of Battle Creek, MI. She met the love of her life and was united in marriage to Ben E. Fisher and to that union five children were born. She later went to nursing school and was also a U.S. Airforce Wife for 23 years and traveled the world with her loving family, living in many States, as well as Japan and Okinawa for a total of 8 years overseas. 

 

In 1975 they retired from the military and three years later moved to Austin, Texas. There she became an Entrepeneur/Owner of several MHMR Boarding homes throughout the Austin Metroplex, taking care of clients with disabilities. Catherine accepted The Lord as a young adult and loved working in the church as an usher and helping other ministries at Greater Mount Zion Church under the late Rev. Bacon. She loved her church family and enjoyed working for The Lord. 

 

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, three sons, Elder Glenn Fisher (wife Laurie) of Arora, Colorado, Gregory Fisher (wife Francis) of Austin, Texas, Anthony “Tony” Fisher of Desoto, Texas, and two daughters, Versa Burnett (husband Pastor Kenneth Burnett) of Austin, Texas, and Cynthia Bush (husband Reggie) of Grand Prairie, Texas, and also twelve grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other family and friends whom were blessed to know her.
