Charles Fred Shrader, Age 71, of Austin, Texas passed away March 11th, 2024. He was born June 23rd, 1952 in Winfield, Kansas to Arthur Henry Fred Shrader and Yvonne Jean McDiarmid.
Charlie graduated with a degree in Education with a minor in mathematics from Southwestern College in 1974. He worked primarily in carpentry and restoration for the duration of his life. He was a master furniture designer and loved designing and building custom furniture.
He met the love of his life, Sue, in February 1980. They were engaged a year later and they married on May 23rd, 1981. They moved to Austin Texas shortly after and built a life of love and house full of children. His dedication to raising his children, led them to homeschool. He loved to study scriptures and discussing theological topics with friends. He never tired of the Bible and always found something new, reminding him of the active Holy Spirit. He loved finding the thread of promises in scripture and relating them to real life.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jean Anderson, granddaughter, Athena Elizabeth, grandson, Liam Andrew and son in law, John Arredondo.
He is survived by his brother Howard, his wife, Sue, and their 9 children + 7 spouses and 13 grandchildren and 4 bonus grandchildren. Hannah and Gary Lopez (Sophia and Elijah), Amy and Nick Holbrook (Eleanor, Christopher, Isabelle and Gunner), Ethan and Lauren Shrader (Autumn, Lincoln and Scotlyn), Ruth Arredondo (Madeline and Elaina Ontiveros), Levi and Sara Shrader (Elias, Jude, Lily, Layla and Matthew), Ivy Shrader, Faith and James Schooler, Caleb and Jessica Shrader (Luna), and Seth and Michelle Shrader.
Charlie also had 14 grand pets that he played with regularly. He is remembered for his love of doo-wop, dad jokes, and was notorious for his cheesy hand shakes and silly songs.
