Clyde Whisenant Green passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2016 at his home in Volente, Texas. Clyde was born to Walter Edward Green and Clyde Louise Whisenant Green on January 21, 1961 in Houston, Texas. Clyde attended school in Houston and Rapid City, South Dakota. After high school graduation Clyde joined the Air Force and became an air plane mechanic working on C-130 Hercules aircraft. He served in both Anchorage, Alaska and Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force Clyde moved to Volente, Texas.
Clyde was married to his former wife Katherine Gerstenberg Green in 1980 and together they raised two amazing boys, Leslie "Les" Clark Green and Walter "Walt" Edward Green.
Clyde was a gifted mechanic, craftsman, builder and all around "handy-man." He worked for Bethany United Methodist Church and owned his own business installing and repairing HVAC systems. He had many hobbies, which he enjoyed sharing with his boys, including restoring vintage cars, flying radio controlled air planes and building the home he lived in, which was an ever-evolving obsession. Clyde also loved an occasional road trip with his boys. Everything from car races to air shows and of course a few Lynyrd Skynyrd concerts along the way.
Clyde is survived by his boys, Les and Walt, many extended family members, friends and faithful companion, his dog Ringo.
