Corinne Loretta Sayther was born October 6, 1926 somewhere in the frozen tundra of Minnesota, and she loved that part of the country her entire life. Corinne was a woman of grand endeavors--mother, adopter of children, vegetable gardener, world traveler, Master Degree receipient (Magna cum Laude) in her 70's. She was, in many ways, a force of nature.
Corinne loved to go--in her car, by plane, by boat. She lugged rice flour to Chile (narrowly missing drug arrest in the confusion), red meat to Katmandu, and countless apple pies to northern relations. She bought a 2 seat BMW Z4 so she wouldn't have to give rides to "those old people"--then drove solo all over the U.S. 4-6 weeks at a time.
Corinne lived in Georgetown, TX for more than 20 years and loved her home and community. She died peacefully on April 20, 2016, leaving her son, Terry, her daughter, Ike, and numerous grand- and great-grandchildren as well as several foster children. She was predeceased by her son, George, and husband Warren G. Sayther.
A memorial will be held at a future date at the Richter family cemetery in New Rockford, N.D.
