Cynthia Martinez

Cynthia Anne Fritsche Martinez passed away at the young age of 63 on November 20, 2014 in Austin, Texas lovingly surrounded by her family.

She grew up in Rochester New York, attended college for Criminal Justice in Rochester, New York. After moving to Austin Texas, she started working for the Travis County Sheriff's office, move onto the Austin Apartment Assn. and then back Travis County to finish her career as a case worker.

Cyndi absolutely loved and adored her children and grandchildren and was a strong supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project. She was also a very proud Breast Cancer Survivor and became extremely passionate about becoming a voice for those that needed the encouragement and support.

She loved to travel to the family's summer home in the Great Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg, Tennessee where she always wanted to "get away with friends and family". Everyone that met her had the same thing to say, "She was truly a strong and amazing person. She left such a positive impact".

She was preceded in death by her parents Paul Fritsche and Dorothy Smallwood Fritsche.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 34 years Joe G. Martinez; her daughter Tonya Vernooy Madden and her loving husband Ken Madden; her daughter Tamara Anne Martinez Fulde; her daughter Renee Martinez Herrington and her loving husband Robert Herrington; her sister Cecily Fritsche Cronk and her loving husband William Cronk.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Skyler, Pierce, Asha, Brooke, Zoe, Ella, Liam & Olivia who will miss her dearly.

A special Thank You goes to all the wonderful staff from A-Med Hospice that were there for her and her family during her final days.

A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date and time.
