David Jones, Sr

Dave Garland Jones Sr. was born to the late R.Z. Jones Sr. and the late Mother Eleanor Jones, on July 1, 1955.

He was educated through the Austin Independent School District. His specialty was cooking; he was an excellent cook; his peach cobbler was always in demand during our family gatherings. He served in the U.S. Army. He also worked for a time in building construction; setting up Commercial Office cubicles, and in the warehouse industry.

Dave enjoyed weight lifting, cooking, detailing cars, playing recreational basketball and loved dressing sharp.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children; Michael Carter (Stephanie) of Round Rock, TX, Davina Lee of Portland, OR, Dave G. Jones Jr. of Austin, TX, and Kiana Jones of Austin, TX. six grandchildren, Lullah Saja Riley, Bre Pickens, Ki'Nya Gaile Jones, Maryael Ayanna Carter, Machael Anthonya Carter and Michael Anthony Carter Jr.; siblings and spouses, Charles and Bertha, Mary and Thomas, Anita and Dewayne, Donna, Darlene and James, Clyde, Herbert and Cynthia, Barney and Lynn, Vanessa and Cedric; sisters-in-law, Patricia, Matokia and Renee.

He will also be missed by all of his nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Waymon Jones, Raymond Jones, and Barry Jones.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11:00a.m. at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 8507 N. IH-35, Austin Texas.
Graveside Internment Committal Service will follow in Elgin Latin Cemetery, Elgin Texas.
