He was adopted and raised by Lonie and Eugene McBee in San Antonio, Texas, where he attended Highlands High School. After training as an electrician, David worked for the University of Texas Facility Management group and the State of Texas General Services Commission. He was an excellent bird dog trainer with a great compassion for his dogs. He served as general manager for Telegraph Cypress Field Club in Punta Gorda, Florida and for American Shooting Center in Houston, Texas. In the Austin, Texas area, David established a thirty-year career as a superintendent and project manager for numerous commercial construction companies, where he was known and respected by his colleagues for his can-do attitude and interpersonal skills. In January 2014, he retired to Rockport, Texas. Throughout Texas, with his many friends, David devoted his time to his life-long love of fishing, bird hunting, and outdoor sports. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Coastal Conservation Association.
David lived his life to the fullest. He pursued his many passions with gusto and with gratitude. He will be remembered for his sense of fun, his charm, his love of music, his loyalty to friends, his love of family and his deep spiritual faith.
