DAVID EARL SURGERS was born to David Lewis Billingsley and Dorothy Mae Surgers on June 16th, 1952 in Galveston Texas.

David attended the Austin High School in Austin, Texas and upon graduating he joined the United States Marines. He completed Cosmetology and Barbers School. He also served in the U.S. Navy upon completion of his military years of service, he also worked at the Brackenridge Hospital, Concordia University, Constructors & Associates, and was employed at AOMA as there facility director.

David loved fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle. He loved God and was baptized at an early age at New Mount Olive Baptist Church in Austin Texas by Pastor H.A. Sneed; before he departed he served at the Fontaine Memorial Baptist Church of Austin Texas up under the leadership of Bishop Lester Surgers.

David is survived by his daughter Latisha Surgers Young and Spouse Quenton Young of Austin Texas; his grandchildren Zaakira Shaderd, Johnathon RayII, Zaakiya Scott, Quenton Young II, Zaaquaiya Young all of Austin Texas; Great Grandson Zarion Thompson also of Austin Texas; A dear and devoted friend Cheryl Sledge and a special fondness for Bronson Sledge and Thomas Shears "The Boys"; his brothers Pastor Lester Surgers (Pam) of Austin, Texas; Errol L. Billingsley of Galveston, Texas, and David L. Taylor of Bastrop, Texas; His sisters Bernice Billingsley of Austin Texas; Octavia M. Billingsley of Houston, Texas and Roshon Hewitt (James) of Bastrop Texas; and a host of other relatives, family and friends.
