Ms. Debra Lynn Brown was born in Paige, Texas on December 21, 1971, to the late Edgar and Varline Reese Brown. Born at home Debra weighed a little over 12pds at birth. The youngest girl of seven siblings, she was known as “Baby Sis.”
At an early age Debra joined Greater Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, where she was baptized by Rev. Jackie R. Pool, Sr.
She attended Lanier High School, Austin Texas, and trained at Goodwill Industries. In 1993 she began working at Fiesta Food Mart until her health failed in September 2022. Debra worked proudly worked at Fiesta for over 29 years.
Debra never met a stranger, she loved life, and loved to talk. Her beautiful smile and mannerisms were so welcoming. In her spare time, she did volunteer work at some of the Community Centers (Mt. Carmel Lodge, Blackland, Rosewood Zaragoza), and for many years, she helped the elderly, and the sick and shut in in her neighborhood.
Debra’s son Jamie was her pride and joy, she would always say “That’s my boy”. She enjoyed family time, and She truly loved and adored her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Debra leaves to cherish her memory: Her son Jamie Lynn Sorrells, Two Brothers, Kenneth R. Reese of Austin, Ollie Samuel Brown (Leona) of Albuquerque New Mexico. Four sisters all of Austin, TX. Brenda Henigan (Kenneth), Linda Roberts (Willie), Maxine T. Cook, and Lana F. Brown.
