Delores Watson Sneed was born to Walter Watson and Roberta Wallace Watson on February 5, 1935 in Sealy, TX. She was the 5th child of 12 children to the union. She attended Kealing Junior High and L.C. Anderson High School.
She accepted Christ at the age of 16 under the pastoral leadership of Elder Grant of McKinley Heights C.O.G.I.C. She also attended Mt. Olive where she was a member of the young adult choir. Where she met her husband the late T.L. Sneed.
She was untied in Holy Matrimony to Thomas L. Sneed Sr. On September 25,1953 in Austin, TX. To this union 5 children were born (one preceded in death Keith Sneed). They were married for 61 years until her loving husband was called home to be with the Lord.
She followed her husband steadfast to St. Mary’s MBC in Pflugerville, New Bethel BC, and Rising Star BC. But God had chosen a place for her to follow her husband in his word- OFF THE BEATEN PATH when Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church was founded. She was not only the co-founder of the Solid Rock, but she served faithfully in many capacities. Sunday School teacher, Choir director, Song writer, Chairperson of church anniversary, Foreign mission, Vacation bible schoolteacher, Prayer bible band teacher, Baptist training union teacher, a spiritual leader and mentor to all. She was also active in the St. John’s Regular Baptist Association as President of the Ministers, Minister’s wives, and widow's union.
In her later years she became a writer/author of a book which is a “living testament to her husband and his journey for God” called Off the Beaten Path that was published in 2018.
To Cherish her memory is her loving children Jerry (Betty), Thomas Jr. (Tracie), Kenneth (Reba), Cheryl (John). A sister Vergie Horton, four brothers A.D. Watson, Walter Jr., Don Waston, Dennis Waston. 12 Grandchildren (one preceded in death Christopher), 21 Great-grandchildren (one preceded in death Christian Jr.), 2 Great-great grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, and relatives and friends.
