Diane Townsend, age 88, went to join her husband, and the love of her life, Robert Townsend, in heaven on Saturday, April 18, 2020. Diane lived the last 8 months in Georgetown, near her daughter, Mary Townsend and husband, Wes Moncus, and her granddaughter, Carrie Faulkner and husband, Harrison, grandson, Craig Moncus, and great-grandson, Stetson. Diane and Robert previously resided in assisted living in The Woodlands, Texas, until his passing in March 2019, near great-grandson, Marcus Norvell, his wife, Miranda, and great-grandsons, Leland and Westen and granddaughter, Krystal McCormick and great-granddaughter Mallory of Tomball, Texas. Previously, Diane and Robert lived for 20 years on the family ranch, located on the Blanco River, in Fischer, Texas, next door to son, Steven Townsend and his wife, Nanette. She and Robert raised goats, chickens, cats, dogs, a garden and fruit trees. Diane enjoyed cooking and baking cakes and was a member of the Fischer Store Homemakers group. Diane loved the Texas Hill Country and spent many of her summers and holidays, as a child, along with her sister, Imogene Haschke Koch, riding horses, fishing and swimming on this ranch, originally purchased by their parents, Gus Walter and Catharine Haschke, of San Antonio, Texas in 1941. Diane was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She attended and was a proud graduate of Alamo Heights. She and Robert married young and shared 69 years of marriage together making memories on Sunday family outings, picnics at the beach, enjoying travel with family and friends, and attending their church, Cowboys for Jesus Fellowship in Fischer, Texas. Diane, who was always good with numbers, also worked as an accountant/bookkeeper, both in Corpus Christi and Austin, Texas, where they raised their three children, Steven, Mary, and Kathleen (husband, Mark Norvell of Barksdale, Texas). Diane is also survived by grandson, Matthew Norvell and great-granddaughter Madelyn of Phoenix, Arizona. A private family service will be on Friday, April 24th, at Fischer Community Cemetery.
