Dominga "Dee" Saldana

Dee Saldana, of Austin, Texas, passed away at her home on June 7, 2018. She was born December 22, 1935, in Bishop, Texas. She was the youngest of the six children of Andrea and Domingo Escamilla. Dee grew up in the Rio Grande valley of Texas. After graduation from Rio Grande High School, Dee attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Education. She remained in Austin, where she married Mike Saldana. Together they had an only child, Derek Saldana. Dee was widowed in 1980 when her husband passed away suddenly during a medical procedure. Dee remained in Austin until the time of her passing. Dee is preceded in death by her siblings: Camila Lopez, Claire Guerra, Andres Escamilla, Trinidad Escamilla, and Eusebio Escamilla. She is survived by her son, Derek Saldana.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 12, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the All Faiths South Chapel at 4360 S. Congress Ave, Austin, Texas 78745. Graveside service is Wednesday, June 13, at 10 a.m. at Onion Creek Memorial Park, 1160 Chapel Lane, Austin, Texas 78748.
