Don was diagnosed with prostate cancer 22 months ago and fought a valiant battle right up to the end. The family would like to thank Dr. Punit Chadha as well as all the nurses and everyone at Texas Oncology for their outstanding professionalism as well as their care for Don. He thought so much of each and everyone of you and you made this experience dignified as well as showing him such great kindness and respect. Don served in the Air Force from 1971 to 1974 and was stationed at Brooks AFB in San Antonio. He embarked on many careers during his life with his last one at Leif Johnson Truck City Ford where he was a service advisor. He made many friends there as well as earning the respect and admiration of many of his customers. He was a past member of the Manchaca Optimist Club and served as President in 1995. He was also actively involved in the Manchaca baseball program when his sons were growing up and served as coach as well as commissioner for many years. He was a member of the Capitol Rod & Gun Club in Spicewood for the past 20 years and had so many wonderful friends and good times on Lake Travis. He desperately wanted to stay and watch his grandchildren grow and they will miss their "PawPaw" so much. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to "Zero Prostate Cancer" race sponsored by Urology Austin. Send donations to ZPCR - Austin, PO Box 320852, Alexandria, VA 22320 and indicate on the check "In memory of Don Moore." A Celebration of Don's life will be held Sunday, June 23rd from 2-5 at the Creedmoor Community Center. We will have a short presentation followed by food and fellowship. Don loved his Hawaiian shirts so we would like to ask everyone to dress in their "Hawaiian Best!"
