Dorla King

Dorla King, 62, of Austin, TX passed away peacefully on March 10, 2020 with her husband, Rafael, and daughter, Tavia, by her side after a brief battle with cancer.

Dorla was born to the late Howard and Elaine Middleton, on April 23, 1957, in Belize City, Belize. She came to the United States in 1978 and lived in New York, where she met her husband, Rafael. They later married in Virginia in 1979, where they started a family and had a daughter, Tavia.

Dorla enjoyed life – she ate good food, drank delicious wines, shopped, went to concerts, traveled with friends and family, and enjoyed movie outings. She was very determined and unapologetic in her pursuit of happiness. Her smile was so wonderful, it could light up a room.

Dorla is survived by her husband, Rafael King, and her daughter, Tavia King. Her sisters: Jennifer Middleton and Shermane Middleton (Beverly Middleton preceded Dorla). Her brothers: Anthony Middleton, Earl Middleton, Kendis Middleton, Kent Middleton, and Dale Middleton. Her nieces, nephews, and grandnephews.

A graveside service will be held at Onion Creek Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday March 23, 2020 at 12:30 p.m.
