Effie Naron Padgett, 94, of Camden, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on December 6, 2012 at Park Bend Health Center, Austin Texas surrounded by family.

She was born January 30, 1918 in Ashley County, Arkansas, the daughter of Walter Scott Naron and Willie Lee Naron (Young).
Effie was a long time resident of Camden, Arkansas living in her home for almost 70 years. She graduated from Camden High School and went to the University of Tennessee Nursing School. She then worked for International Paper Company at the Camden Mill for 35 years as a nurse, touching lives all over south Arkansas. After retiring from the paper mill, Effie returned to school and earned her Bachelor of Science in History from Southern Arkansas University at the time she was the oldest student on campus. After graduating, Effie enjoyed her family and was a member of the local quilting club. She loved to cook, crochet, knit and quilt, making endless gifts and heirlooms for her family and friends.

She joins her daughter, Judy Stephen; sisters, Essie Bullock, Pearlie Polca, Marie Naron; brother Walter Naron; husband, Sidney E. Padgett, Jr.; nephew Ronnie Bullock and long time friend Onie Mae Porchia. Effie is survived by her daughter, Sidney Padgett; son-in-law Joseph L. Stephan; daughter-in-law Peggy Haston and her husband Danny; grandson Terry Stephan; grandson Aaron Griffin; grandson Joel Stephen his wife Marjorie Stephen and their children, Effie's great grandchildren, Elizabeth Stephen, Catherine Stephen, and Joseph Stephen; niece Cathy Pace (Bullock) and her husband Harold Pace; great niece, Leann Pace her husband Clinton Moyer and their daughter Clementine and long time friend Darlene Carter and her daughter Tacora. The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful people at Park Bend Health Center who took care of Effie in her last years.
