Ellen Lee Vaughn, aged 89, passed away on September 20, 2024 in Austin, Texas

Ellen was a cherished member of her community and a beloved figure in her family. Professionally, Ellen dedicated many years to Haynes Whaley and Associates, in Houston Texas and served as the Office Manager at Round Rock Orthopedic Associates until she retired. Her commitment to her work was paralleled by her involvement at Round Mountain Baptist Church, where she contributed passionately as the music director, choir director, treasurer and Sunday school teacher. She also served on the steering committee for a number of years. She was always available to transport people to the hospital or to doctors’ appointments and to help in any way needed.

Ellen found joy in crafting and crocheting, hobbies that she pursued with love and shared with those around her. Her creative spirit brought warmth and beauty to the lives of her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Thompson; son Bob Blue; daughter-in-law, Jacqui Blue; granddaughters, Kimberly Thompson, Andrea Wilhelme, and Christina Townsend; grandsons, Christopher Thompson, Forrest Mizrahi, and Devon Mizrahi; 11 great-grandchildren, niece, Cindy Ritch; and former husband, Thomas Oliver Blue, Jr. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Vaughn.

Ellen’s life was marked by her devotion to her family, her career, and her church. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 5, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Round Mountain Baptist Church, 14500 Round Mountain Rd, Leander, TX 78641, reflecting her deep connection to her faith and community. Reception and fellowship to follow.
