On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, Eva Franco Acosta envisioned “están abiertas las puertas del Cielo y puedo ver al Paraíso,” and peacefully drifted into eternal rest, at her home in Round Rock, Texas, surrounded by her family. She was 92 years young.
Eva was born on March 17, 1929, to Manuel and Anita Franco in Sierra Blanca, Texas, she was one of ten children. She devoted her life in sharing her unconditional love, guidance, and kindness with all whose lives she touched as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed for her delicious homecooked meals, her mastery skills of ironing, hemming, and mending, but most importantly her sweet, and beautiful voice, “I Love You,” after every conversation. Eva will be forever treasured in our hearts.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband Rosalio “Chalio” Acosta; her parents Manuel and Anita Franco; her sisters, Evangelina, Elisa, Socorro, and Elva; and her brother Nellie.
Eva is survived by her loving children, Bertha Tavizon (Arnold), Alice Valles (Oscar), Charlie Acosta (Peggy), Sylvia Acosta (Tony) , Shelly Puga, and David Aguilar (Norma); sisters, Jo Bennett, and Cruz Ayers; brothers, Antonio Franco, and Pablo Franco; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 PM with a rosary starting at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 11, 2022, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 400 W. Sunset Rd. El Paso, Texas 79922. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. An internment will follow at 11:30 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907.
