Eva Grace ("Billie") Hinkelman went to Heaven peacefully in her sleep on Sat, 08/10/13 at age 89. She's now reunited with Daddy, her parents, siblings, & special friends. While we shall miss her, we are grateful she is in Heaven, totally Healed, no longer in pain.
Mom, born the 8th of 8 children, to WC & Bertha Childress in Madison, LA., grew up in TX, attending elementary school in Georgetown. Her father was Pastor at GT's 1st UMC, when she was in 1st/2nd grade. Mom was a beautiful & extremely intelligent woman. She met her future husband, Bob Hinkelman, on a blind date, & they married in 1947. Mom was active in many Methodist Women's Society groups, and enjoyed entertaining immensely before her health failed. She was always recognized as a superb cook, talented seamstress, delightful hostess, & fascinating conversationalist. Family was always her priority.
Mom was multi-talented, a natural cook & baker, with a beautiful singing voice, elegantly artistic, who created beauty in her sewing, floral arrangements, gift wrapping, decorating for Holidays, remembered for her thoughtful thank you notes to friends/family, & generously making happy memories for family and friends. She delighted in her six grandchildren, Jason, Amy, Zach, Brittany, & step-grandsons, Nathan, & Derek Howard & her 3 great-grandchildren, Hannah Rose, Devin, & Addison Grace.
Her survivors include 3 children: Ann, of Round Rock; son, Robb & wife, Rhonda, of Austin; Lisa & husband, Bill Arellano, of Austin; her older brother, John Childress & wife, Katy, of CA; brother-in-law, Dick Hinkelman of PA; her 6 wonderful grandchildren, & 3 precious great grandchildren. "Mimi" to her 6 grandchildren, she dearly loved Jason & wife, Angela; Amy & husband, Cameron Newton; Zachary & Brittany Arellano; & Rhonda's sons, Nathan & wife, Katie; & Derek & wife, Jamie. Preceeded in death by her devoted husband of 57 yrs, Bob, her loving parents, & 6 of her 7 siblings. Her 6 grandpups, were waiting for her at Rainbow Bridge.
We are grateful for Mom's spiritual faith & commitment to family as a supportive wife, loving mother, & nurturing grandmother. We thank her many caregivers over the past 9.5 yrs, esp. Victoria, Ramona, Linda, Nancy, Jackie G, Hazel, Gayna, & Fairway Vista's very attentive & loving caregivers: Jessy, Brittany, Taylor, & Heather for the past 3 yrs, plus Odyssey Hospices RN's Heath, Kat, & Nancy.
