Friends and family celebrate the life of Fred Henry Swain, born in Denver, Colorado on December 26, 1950 to Katherine Thompson-Swain and Vincent Swain.

Freddy accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. On April 10, 2011, Freddy rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized on April 24, 2011 by Pastor R.E. Foster at Zion Rest Missionary Baptist Church. He sang with the Male Chorus and was the Transportation Ministry Coordinator. Freddy served as vice-president of the Men's Ministry, and was currently serving as president of the Men's Ministry. He was also serving as Deacon-Elect, in training to become a deacon.

Freddy was a self-proclaimed barbecue master and enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. He loved spending time with his wife and grandchildren and was a true protector of his family. Freddy lived for his family. He was known for his fun loving personality and was instantly loved by all those that were fortunate enough to meet him. His smile was infectious, and his laugh instantly brought joy to those around him.

Freddy served 10 years in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. Following his military service, Freddy continually worked in roles of service and security.

Freddy, we will see you soon! You will be missed more than words can express. In the meantime, watch over us and enjoy what Christ has prepared for you in your new life.

Freddy was preceded in death by his father Vincent Herbert Swain, mother Katherine Swain, sister Alice Faye Swain, and brother Vincent Swain II.

Freddy left to cherish his memory his wife of 22 years, Clematine Swain; four daughters: Natasha Swain, Talita Swain, Felisha McBride and Taresha Agins; Two sons: Bernard Swain, and Jonathan Felder; Seven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Swain will Lie in State at 8:30a.m. with Going Home Services to follow at 9:30a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Zion Rest Baptist Church, 3631 Paisano Trail, Austin Texas. The family is requesting a donation to the Zion Rest Men's Ministry in lieu of flowers.

Committal Services will follow at 1:00pm on Friday, Ausgut 1, 2014 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas with Military Honors by the U.S Army.
