Glenn Watkins, 91, of Smithville, Texas died peacefully on December 28, 2015. He was born July 14, 1924 in San Saba, Texas.
After graduating from San Saba High School, Glenn enlisted in the Navy to serve his country during World War II.
He attended the University of Texas and afterward succeeded as a salesman in the brick industry. Upon his retirement in Smithville he owned and operated the Watkins Laundromat.
Glenn is survived by his wife Berneece, daughters Glenda Faye Watkins Barger and her husband John Barger, and Dee Exa Watkins Fowler and her husband Jay Fowler.
He is preceded in death by his parents James W. and Exa Faye Schneider Watkins, brothers R.G. "Pud" Watkins, James H. "Tid" Watkins, George H. "Hoot" Watkins, sister Loray Hart, as well as his son David L. Watkins.

Services will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at All Faiths of the Pines Funeral Home at 110 American Legion Road, Smithville, Texas.
Funeral service is at 2:30 p.m. being officiated by Brother John Abraham. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral. The burial will follow at McDade Cemetery.
