Heaven received another angel last Thursday. Gloria Jean Escobar passed away on October 3, 2013, at 10:25 am in Austin, TX. Gloria was born in Wichita, KS, on April 29, 1955, to Jacob H. Gaede, Sr. and Wanda Anderson.
The trials of losing a brother and her father at an early age shaped her deeply, giving Gloria a great strength of will. When she turned 16, she moved to Texas. No matter where else she went in her life, she always came back to Texas.
Gloria was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Smithville, attending church every time she could.
Gloria is survived by her children, Jacob A. Cashion, Sr., Abraham C. Escobar, Jr., Amanda M. Escobar, and Jonathan L. Escobar, her grandchild Jacob A. Cashion, Jr, Sarah Tran, and Wanda Bernice Gaede Graves.
Memorial services will be at the First United Methodist Church, Smithville, on Tuesday, October 8, at 1:00pm with light refreshments to follow.
