Gloria Sanders

This loving woman, with a heart of gold and cheery disposition, was born in Smith County and grew up near Tyler, Tx.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Trixie Clark Holder and Alonzo Clark, and her husband, Walter Hale Sanders. Left to cherish the many precious memories of her mother is Gloria's daughter, Julie Sanders and her husband, Krishna Bhatta, of Austin. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Ownsbey and family.

Gloria retired after many years working for the State of Texas, and volunteered for Animal Trustees and Meals on Wheels. She loved animals, playing bridge, socializing, travel and hunting for treasures at yard sales. She enjoyed many trips with her family, and cared for her beloved mother for the last few years of her life. Gloria loved everyone she met, and always had a smile. She leaves behind a host of friends whose lives she touched, and will always be remembered as a gentle and caring soul.

A memorial will be held at Messiah Lutheran, at 10 AM, Thursday, Jan. 17th, at 5701 Cameron Rd, Austin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ASPCA or Humane Society in her name.
