Harold Waldo Heavin, 83 died October 7, 2012 in Round Rock, Texas. He was born December 7, 1928 in Fillmore, Indiana to Henry Morris and Zella Garrett Heavin.
During his youth, he served in United States Navy and attended Indiana University.
A successful career at IBM lead Mr. Heavin from Greencastle, Indiana to Boulder, Colorado; Poughkeepsie, New York, and lastly to his home in Austin, Texas where he retired from the company.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Alice Heavin; children: Karen Stearns of Georgetown, Texas; Gregory Heavin of Mooresville, North Carolina; and Kimberly Heavin of Mesquite, Texas; four grandchildren: Kenny Heavin, Amanda Stearns, Joel Heavin, and Shannon Heavin; great grandchildren: Kaiden and Brooke Perkins; and step-children: David Contreras, Brenda Conn, Linda Osorio and Fernando Cantu.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alfred and Wilbur Heavin.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., October 19, 2012 at All Faiths Funeral Home, Austin, Texas.
Inurnment Services will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
