Hattie Barker

Hattie "Ruth" Benner Barker passed away on November 24, 2015 at the age of 87. Ruth was born in Edna, Texas to Texas sharecroppers, Andrew Jackson and Nellie (Searcy) Tompkins. She was one of twelve children. Ruth was a resident of Pin Oak, Texas community.
Ruth lived a long full life enjoying her family, especially her grandchildren. Ruth made her mark in the professional word as the first woman head cashier and vice-president of the one time Lumberman's Bank that later came to be Greenway Bank and Trust in Houston, Texas.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Benner Blau and husband David; Granddaughter, Brook Lynn Pruitt and husband Roger; Grandson, Bryan David Blau and wife Adrienne; Great-Grandchildren; Gage Pruitt and Maren Blau.
She was preceded in death by her husband A.J. Barker and all eleven of her brothers and sisters.
A visitation will be held at All Faiths of the Pines, Friday, November 27, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 29, 2015 also at All Faiths of the Pines. Ruth will be laid to rest at the Pin Oak Cemetery following the funeral service.
