Ellison Herod King, 61, of Martindale passed away on Sunday, Aug. 31. Herod was born in Lockhart on July 6, 1953 to Vivian and Johnny Ellison, Sr.
Herod attended Lockhart High School and graduate of Elkins Business of Electronics and Communications.
He worked at KAPE Radio Station in San Antonio. He was a graduate of Southwest Texas State University with both a Bachelors and Masters Degree.
Herod was the resident Self-Sufficiency Program Coordinator for the San Marcos Housing Authority in San Marcos.
Herod was a member of a local singing group of Martindale. The members were Herod, George and Everett. They sang at multiple events in surrounding towns.
Home going service will be Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. at All Faith Funeral Service, 8507 N I-35 in Austin. A visitation service will be held Sept. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m.
