Ira Bedford Jr. also known as "Sammie" was born September 22, 1955 in Austin, TX. He was the third child of five to the union of Ira Bedford Sr. and Willie Bedford.
He confessed his belief in Christ at an early age joining David Chapel Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the Austin Independent School District and also joined the Army and Army National Guard.
At a young age, Ira Bedford Jr. also developed a strong work ethic working with his father in the family construction business. He was a go-getter. He always did what he had to do to take care of his family. His wife and kids were his pride and joy. He was also a God fearing man who taught his kids to put God first and family second. To know him was to love him. To many he was a father figure, friend, spiritual motivator, and advisor. He enjoyed spending time cooking bar-b-que, play cards, dominoes, and listening to music. He truly was a remarkable man.
He departed this life on the 8th day of November 2014. On January 29, 1980 a holy matrimony was bonded with Charmaine Durst. In this union two children were born, one boy and one girl.
