Isabel Catherine Kucera

December 28, 2001 — February 9, 2025

Isabel Catherine Kucera, affectionately known as Noodles, Poomps, and Is, was born on December 28, 2001, and passed away on February 09, 2025. Isabel was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin Highschool. Isabel is survived by her parents, Catherine Benouis and Jason Kucera; brother, Aidan Kucera; grandparents, Mary Ellen and Robert McBride; aunts and uncles, Robert McBride, Jr., and wife Katie McBride, Mary McBride Gerkin and husband Patrick Gerkin, Michael McBride and wife Joanne Mullin McBride; cousins, Thomas McBride, Lilly McBride, Henry McBride, Sophie McBride, Annie McBride, Michael Gerkin, Ryan Gerkin, and Patrick Gerkin. Isabel was predeceased in death by her uncle, Thomas McBride; grandmother, Theresa Sielaff; and great-grandparents, Shirley Sielaff and husband Wally Sielaff.

Isabel was an amazing, self-taught artist, a talent she inherited from her father. A free spirit, Isabel’s artistic soul could not be confined to one medium. She expressed herself through painting, drawing, photography and uniquely beautiful creations, including jewelry, glass work, and a spectacular ukulele she built by hand (truly a testament to her creativity and dedication to her art).

Isabel loved and respected nature and its little creatures. She spent many joyful hours at Barton Springs, and she rescued numerous homeless puppies and kittens. Isabel loved sun, water, and animals. In their presence she was radiant. Dogs, Dakota and Korra, and her kitten, Santos, will remind her family of her.

Isabel was a paradox. Although she could be reserved, Isabel had a sparkling playful side. Even in the darkest times, Isabel’s observations were astute and very funny. Isabel was fiercely independent and stubborn, but she shared her secrets with her mother, her struggles with her father, and she was a protective older sister.

Isabel knew she was loved, and those of us fortunate enough to truly know Isabel will hold this unique and beautiful young woman in our hearts until we join her.
