Izilla was born on June 27, 1929 in BurkBurnett, TX to George and Effie Lee (Piercy) Jackson. She attended school in Kirvin, TX and later moved to Houston to work as a waitress. This is where she met her husband, John Fleck. They were married on October28, 1950. Together they raised 4 children, Darlyn Moore and husband Billy, John Fleck, Jr. and wife Katie, Donna Palko and Jim Fleck and wife Derenda. In addition to being a wife and mother, Izilla worked as a hairdresser, had a snowcone business and did volunteer work. When John retired from Brown & Root, they moved to West Point, TX to enjoy retirement. John passed away on August 28, 1987 from a massive heart attack. Izilla moved to Smithville, TX and became involved in a number of activities (RV club, volunteering at The Towers and also volunteering at First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star). Izilla was great at whatever job or hobby she pursued. Whether it was cake decorating, running wiring for electricity, canning, learning to use computers, oil painting, cooking, Girl Scout leader, she completed each task with dedication and determination. Izilla is predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brothers, George Jackson and Jimmy Jackson and a sister, Louise Fain. She is survived by her children, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren (+1 due December 5, 2015), a sister, Willie Lee Baker, as well as a multitude of friends and relatives.
