Services for Jack Lee Taylor, 71, of Bastrop, will be at 11:00am Thursday, November 21, 2013, in the Chapel at All Faiths of the Pines in Smithville, Texas.
Jack passed away Monday, November 18, 2013, after a long illness, but peacefully in his home.
Jack was born on October 22, 1942, in Canton, Ohio, to Roy and Eleanor Taylor who preceded him in death.
He made his career in Electric Utility Construction, following in the footsteps of his Dad as well as many other family members. He married the love of his life Suzanne Taylor, 30 years ago. Jack spent his life as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, traveling, shopping and spending time with his family. Jack will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne Taylor of Bastrop and seven children, Sheila and Jay Wright of Greenwood, LA, Roy and Janet Taylor of Bastrop, Jason and Laurie Taylor of Austin, Cheri and Bill Rice of Bastrop, Claudette Taylor and Taryn Nitz of Clearwater, FL, Mickey and Stacy Mehrens of Georgetown, Eleanor and William McDonald of Albia, IA, 18 grandkids and 7 great grandkids. He is proceeded in death by his grandson Timmy Shane Davis.
