Jannie Sigler

April 19, 1947 — September 23, 2015

North Austin Location

Jannie Mae Sigler was born to William Hunt and Florence Williams on April 19, 1947 in Finchburg, Alabama. On Wednesday, September 23, 2015, Mother received her eternal victory at 9:15 AM.

Her early education was received while attending Coy Junior High School in Coy, Alabama. She graduated from Williamson High School in Mobile, Alabama in 1965.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized while attending Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Coy, Alabama, under the leadership of Pastor W. G. Lett.

Jannie loved the Lord and continuously witnessed to any and everyone she met. Her passion for God was evident and her faith was unwavering throughout her entire life.

Loving and caring for her children was always a priority and she would go to the ends of the world to protect them. She was also mother to many children she didn't birth and was known as "Mama Jannie."

She was always genuine and was loved for her realness. She never met a stranger and would give her last without a second thought. She enjoyed fishing, horses, caring for the elderly, and last but not least... talking trash! "SHOW-NUFF"

Jannie was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest son, Samuel D Sigler. She will be severely missed by her five children: Samantha D. Knight, from Austin, Texas; Shy (Kamal) Qatato, from Flower Mound, Texas; Sharon (Reginald) Burnette, from Roswell, Georgia; Florence K. Knight, from Grand Prairie, Texas; and Charleston B.T.R. Knight, from Austin, Texas; her god-daughter: Rose M. Sigler from Missouri City, Texas; her grandchildren: Jannie K. C. Mitchell, William O. Knight, Elijah K. Burnette, Ajeenah T. Fareed, Autumn M. Burnette, Reginald V. Burnette Jr., Aaliyah K. Qatato, Aamirah K. Qatato; her great-grand daughter: Starlette S. Hendricks; as well as a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A special thank you to the father of her children who continued to contribute to her care during her time of sickness: Charlie W. Knight from Austin, Texas.
