Joan Noyes

Joan Lee Ranger Noyes, a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully into eternity holding her daughter Laura and Kelly’s hands on April 17th, 2023 in Cedar Park, Texas. During her last few days, she was surrounded by her loving son Mike, daughter-in- law Debbie, her granddaughters Claire & Kaitlyn and her nieces, nephews and extended family. In the end, she knew she was loved by all.

She joined her parents Jack and Virginia Ranger, sisters, Judy, Patti, Vicci, and her son Tom in heaven, whom she profoundly loved and missed.

Joan was born on July 2nd, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1963 she married David M. Noyes and had four children, Mike, Kelly, Tom and Laura. She was a devoted mom and loved her kids with all her heart. She always gave insightful guidance and was there for them in fun times and in times of need. Her earlier years were spent raising her kids, taking them to the lakes in Minnesota where they enjoyed time with their cousins. At the lake they loved to go fishing, swimming, boating, tubing and sunbathing. In 1976 they moved to Laguna Niguel, California where she was able to continue raising her kids while David spent time working at his construction company. During this time, in addition to being a fantastic Mother she became a successful realtor. She was a fabulous cook! During the early years in Laguna Niguel was when her love for cooking flourished, often cooking for the family and sharing her favorite recipes. Cooking was her love language.

Joan spent quite a few years in Naples, Florida with her daughter Laura and grandson Kevin, often visiting them even when not living in Florida. She was a real estate agent in Florida and made some wonderful friends there. She appreciated the beauty of the water and the tropical feel that Florida provided.

In 2012 she made the decision to move to Texas to be close to her sisters and Kelly, her other daughter. Her grandkids in Texas have great memories of her. She was a mentor, confidant and advisor to her nieces and nephews who recently shared their stories about how they loved how quick witted, smart, funny and caring she was. They had lost their moms and Joan (Joni) was also there for them.

In the last few years of Joan’s life, she also had the comfort of love and companionship from Herb, and later Brian Falknor, who moved with her from Florida to Texas, and with whom she shared a great love of music.  She also spent most of her time reading and enjoying weekly luncheons with Kelly.

One of life’s greatest blessings is being able to create wonderful memories with family and when someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. Joan was a treasure to all that knew her.  She will be forever missed. A Celebration of her life will be later this summer in Minnesota.
