John Ashby, Sr

John Wiley Ashby Sr of Georgetown, previously of Waco, Tx. passed away on October 22, 2014 with his wife by his side.

John was born in El Campo Texas on January 11, 1948 and grew up in Center, Tx. He worked for Bealls Department Store for 21 years, then became a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones where he remained there until his retirement in 2005.

After retirement he and his wife, Sue, moved to Sun City.Tx. where he spent the rest of his years doing exactly what he loved. He was a great outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and spent countless hours in his boat.

Preceded in Death by his Father, Aubrey H. Ashby and his daughter, April McGill. Survivors include his wife, Sue Ashby of Sun City, Son, John Ashby Jr. and his Wife Krissy, his Mother Mildred Ashby, Sister Diana Davis and her husband Neilson Davis and 2 grandchildren, Shelby and Austin Gentry.

He left behind fond memories and special times for his family and friends to treasure and was loved and will be missed by many. Words cannot express our heartfelt loss. He had a bigger than life attitude and was always helping others. in every way possible.

The family is planning a Celebration of his life at First United Methodist Church in Waco, Tx. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 10:00 in the chapel.
