It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Michael Cinelli, who died peacefully on November 28, 2024, in Austin, Texas, at the age of 72. Born on June 15, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, John graduated from Christ the King High School in Lubbock, Texas. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, mentor, brother, and friend.
John proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he demonstrated unwavering dedication to his country. After his military service, he worked in security for more than 20 years, always committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of those around him. His strong sense of duty, reliability, and compassion made him a respected figure among his peers.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Darlene Cinelli; son, John M. Cinelli Jr. and daughter-in-law, Kristi M. Cinelli; daughter, Shonda M. Cinelli; granddaughters, Leah and Carisa Cinelli; grandson, Tristen Cinelli; his sister, Mary Rose Cinelli; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elosie Cinelli, and his little angel daughter, Kristina M. Cinelli.
John was a man of many qualities, as his grandson said, and he was proud to have him as his grandfather. He taught those around him to be patient, kind, humble, and to love unconditionally. He was always willing to offer a hand or share advice, never hesitating to guide others with wisdom and grace. John enjoyed the antics of his granddaughters, Leah and Carisa, as only girls can do, and he cherished the joy they brought to his life.
He loved deep conversations and possessed a dry sense of humor that was truly remarkable. His legacy of patience, kindness, and humility will continue to inspire all who knew him, especially his children and grandchildren.
Graveside services, with honors, will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Cook Walden Forest Oak Memorial Park, 6300 W. William Cannon Dr, Austin, Texas.
