John Strain Jr.

John Michael Strain Jr. PHD passed away from natural causes March 5th 2023 in his home in Manchaca, Texas. Born in the Green Ridge section of Aston, Pennsylvania on February 2nd1947, John Michael was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy (Locke) Strain and three brothers.  John is survived by his sisters, Patricia E. DiFilippo and Debra C. Fricker, as well as four nieces and one nephew.

John Michael attended St. Joseph Catholic Grade School in Aston, Pennsylvania and graduated high school from St. James Catholic High School for Boys in Chester, Pennsylvania.

He then began his travel West, where he graduated from Central Missouri State College and received his Doctorate in Education at the University of Houston. John Michael was fluent in Spanish and practiced psychology in the private sector, as well as the public education system in the state of Texas.

In his retirement, John Michael volunteered with several public service organizations. He loved the arts, travel, live theater and the heritage oak tree in his backyard.

John Michael enjoyed traveling the world, including all of the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, the Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Africa, England, France, Spain, Ireland, Costa Rica, Mexico and the Czech Republic. John Michael made lifelong friends during these travels and will be missed by all.
