On March 19, 2024, the world lost a remarkable soul as Jose G Rodriguez peacefully passed away. Born on August 7, 1945, in Austin, Texas, Jose's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and cherished moments that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Jose's journey was marked by his unwavering service to his country as a proud member of the United States Army. His dedication and commitment earned him the National Defense Service Medal Sharpshooter (Rifle), a true testament to his bravery and valor.
Beyond his military service, Jose's greatest legacy lies within the family he adored. He is survived by his wife Delores Moreno Rodriguez. He is also survived by children Elvira Flores, Evelin Vera, Albert Moreno, Leticia Moreno, Jose Rodriguez JR, Raymond Rodriguez, Rodolfo Rodriguez, Isabel Homann, Joel Rodriguez, Gilbert Rodriguez, Gloria Vasquez, John Albert Rodriguez, Lisa Hassette, Monica Rodriguez, Tina Ramirez, and Christina Ramirez. Moreover, Jose leaves behind a beautiful lineage of 37 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren who will carry forth his spirit and memories for generations to come.
A man of profound character and kindness, Jose touched countless lives with his wisdom and warmth. His presence will be deeply missed but forever treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Services to honor and celebrate Jose's life will be held at All Faiths Funeral & Cremation Services in North Austin for visitation on March 26th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at San Francisco Javier Catholic Church in Del Valle on March 27th at 12:00 PM followed by burial at Guadalupe Cemetery in Lockhart at 1:30 PM.
