Joseph Pollard

Joseph Henry Pollard, a lifelong resident of Austin, Texas, who graced us with his beautiful spirit on April 2, 1985, left us on May 25, 2017. Among his many accomplishments was being a member of the first graduating class of Akins High School on 2003, where he was on the student committee which helped select the school’s mascot and school colors. He was also the first school’s Valedictorian and one of the first drum majors. He went on to obtain his B.A. from the University of Miami in International Studies and Political Science and later attended their Law School. Joseph Henry was currently employed by the IRS in Austin. He leaves behind his loving mother, Wendy Pollard of Austin, father David Pollard of San Antonio; aunts, Susan Schwab of San Mateo, Clair Jungbauer of San Antonio; uncles, Jim Romlin and wife Judy, John Romlin both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Partner, Carlos Vanegas of Sacramento, California; many cousins and numerous friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 24, 2017 at the home of Daniel Krupinski, 12908 Lipton Loop, Del Valle, Texas, 78617. The gathering will begin at 5:30PM and the Tribute at 6:30PM. In lieu of flowers, Wendy Pollard requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org. Joseph Henry will always be remembered by his loving family and friends.
