Juan Fernandez Sr. was born on February 3, 1959 and was called to Heaven on December 8, 2020. He is survived by his loving sons, Juan Fernandez Jr. and wife Veronica, Sunny Fernandez, Steven Fernandez, and daughter Nickie Nina Fernandez. Juan had 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind sisters Patricia (Vicente) Gonzalez, Laura Mendiola (Nemirio), Lila Garcia (Carlos), along with Brothers Domingo (Martha) Fernandez, James (Milagros) Fernandez, Richard (Cristina) Fernandez and Jose Luis Lara (Gracie) and countless Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by Sister Mary Ellen, Mother Margaret Fernandez, and Father Domingo Fernandez Sr.
Juan worked as a Cook since the age of 13 and cooked at many different Favorite Austin Locations. From many years at Jim’s, to The Pit on Congress. He was a hard-working, dedicated man. He made countless friends with his years of service and his sense of humor.
Juan was a Long-time sports fan! He played 15 + years with an all-Men Softball Team, named the 45ers. His favorite teams were UT Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys. And Although Football was his Favorite Sport to Watch, He loved all Sports!
Juan loved his family! He enjoyed going to all family celebrations and loved to joke and quote movies to make others laugh. He appreciated the simple things in life, from his Favorite Meat Loaf to sitting on the porch with his Tejano Music. He was a great Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend to everyone. He will be deeply missed.
